DETROIT ? RadioShack, coming back from bankruptcy that forced it to close 1,700 stores nationwide, has come back from the dead as Sprint-RadioShack co-branded retail shops. Now 31 of those stores in Michigan will hire about 70 sales associates to eventually outfit the ?store-within-a-store? concept over the next few months.
?Sprint is excited for the opportunity to transform these RadioShack stores, and give our customers a brand new experience once our ?store-within-a-store? concept is complete,? said Karen Paletta, Sprint?s Vice President for the Northeast Region. ?We?re also thrilled to be able to bring dozens of jobs to Michigan as well.?

The new Sprint-RadioShack stores now exclusively sell Sprint, Boost and Virgin-branded mobile devices and other products, with the wireless carrier occupying one-third of the retail space in the stores.
