WARREN �?? Auto supplier TI Automotive has named Thomas Buchholz as managing director of its European Fluid Carrying Systems business. He will report to Joachim Burkhardt, president Fluid Carrying Systems and COO Europe.

Formerly general manager of Liquid Management Systems for Mahle GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany, Buchholz began his business career at Niedecker GmbH in Frankfurt, a machine building company, where he later became production manager of its CAD/CAM and modular fixture systems division. He subsequently moved into the automotive supplier industry as a production manager at LuK GmbH & Co., based in Buehl, Baden.

He joined Mahle in 1992 as manger of Central Industrial Engineering. In 1995, Buchholz moved to Brazil initially as general manager Mahle Brazil and in 1998 as executive vice president, overseeing production, supply chain management and quality management for the Mahle Metalleve Group. He returned to Germany in 2001 as executive vice president Mahle Filtersystems responsible for global operations.

Buchholz holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Karlsruhe. He also has a master�??s degree from Yale University and a Ph.D. in production engineering from the University of Karlsruhe.

A native of Lahr, Baden, he resides in Gerlingen, near Stuttgart.
