TROY – Automation Alley recently announced that the Product Lifecycle Management Center at Oakland University has been renamed the Automation Alley Technology Center to allow for the inclusion of additional technology resources.
?We still believe that the availability of product lifecycle management (PLM) training and resources is critical to the growth of small to medium-sized manufacturers in our region, and PLM will continue to be a key focus area for the Automation Alley Technology Center going forward,? said Automation Alley Executive Director Ken Rogers. ?However, the name change allows us to consider what other technologies are, or may become, critically important for the tech business community now and in the future. We look forward to incorporating new technologies into our programs and services at the center.?
Located inside OU INC, a SmartZone business accelerator on the campus of Oakland University, the center opened in February to address the need in Southeast Michigan for affordable training of local employees, students and individuals in PLM technologies and processes. PLM is the process of managing the lifecycle of a product from its conception and design, through manufacture, to service and disposal.
?The name change will open doors to new partnerships that will allow Automation Alley to provide resources related to new technologies,? Rogers said.
