TROY – The members of the International Council of Systems Engineering have selected Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President John A. Thomas President-elect to succeed the current president in two years time. This is the first time a candidate from Booz Allen has been nominated to lead the 7,000-member systems engineering organization, which serves as the collective voice for members of the profession throughout the world.
Booz Allen’s growing commitment to INCOSE has been unwavering for more than two decades. Approximately 200 Booz Allen employees nationwide are INCOSE members, a number of them serving in leadership roles. Booz Allen also has the distinction of the
most INCOSE-Certified Systems Engineering Professionals, CSEPs, of any other organization.
“We are particularly excited about one of our own spearheading the future of system engineering,” Troy Peterson said, a Booz Allen Associate and Troy, Michigan, chapter member. “John has pledged to use Booz Allen’s involvement to expand the INCOSE membership base, position system engineers as leaders in system development projects, to gain greater recognition among system development managers for the roles system engineering professionals fulfill on teams, and overall, to demonstrate the value of system engineering to the success of large, complex projects.”
Seattle-based INCOSE disseminates systems engineering knowledge, promotes international collaboration, assures scalable professional standards, improves the status of systems engineers, and encourages government, academic and industry support for research and educational programs.
