GRAND RAPIDS ? The Business Review will cease publishing its weekly tabloid newspaper and focus on expanding digital offerings for business-to-business readers.

Business Review West Michigan ? formed 16 years ago as a regional business publication and initially known as Business Direct ? published its final print edition this week.

The company also plans to continue Business Review West Michigan?s annual Deals of the Year awards that recognize the biggest business deals in the market each fall, Sharp said. Deals of the Years events will begin in additional markets across the state, he added.

Annarbor.com ? which assumed the Business Review brand when the Ann Arbor Business Review print publication ended in 2009 ? also hosts an annual Deals of the Year awards event.

MLive intends to use its Influence eNewsletter platform and brand to create similar e-newsletters in additional markets statewide ? Lansing, Ann Arbor, Detroit and Oakland County, Flint, Saginaw and Bay City ? for B2B readers.

Formed last month, MLive Media Group includes the Kalamazoo Gazette, The Grand Rapids Press and Muskegon Chronicle, plus MLive.com, AnnArbor.com and newspapers in Jackson, Flint, Saginaw and Bay City. Under the new structure, daily newspapers in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Muskegon will print seven days a week, but transition to a three-day home delivery on Feb. 2 as the MLive Media Group boosts digital content offerings.
