BLOOMFIELD HILLS – Oscar H. Feldman, Counsel to Butzel Long, will be honored by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit with its Lifetime Achievement Award on May 20.

Based in Butzel Long’s Bloomfield Hills office, Feldman’s practice has been principally in the areas of Federal taxation, estate planning and commercial business and finance. He has represented public and private corporations in effecting mergers, consolidations and other forms of reorganizations.

Feldman has served as Chairman of the State Bar of Michigan Tax Section and the City of Detroit Bar Tax Committee. He was a lecturer at both Columbia and Wayne State University Law School, teaching subjects in Federal taxation and estate planning. He also served as an Attorney in the office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C.

He has devoted significant time to charitable organizations, principally in his capacities as Chairman of the Board of Hutzel Hospital, President of the Pistons-Palace Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Wayne State University Medical School and as Vice Chairman of the Southeastern Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross. Feldman is a 2005 inductee into the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

Feldman holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Columbia University Law School, each of which he received with honors.
