Charlotte Garry Carne, William Kliffel and Dawn Ward as senior attorneys. Previously, they were associate attorneys.
Based in Butzel Long?s Detroit office, Charlotte Garry Carne?s practice includes all areas of labor and employment law. She routinely provides counseling and advice to management on employment law issues and avoiding litigation. Carne is adept at handling complex litigation matters and labor negotiations. She has represented clients before state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and various other state civil rights agencies and labor commissions.
Kliffel, who is based in Butzel Long?s Detroit office, practices in the area of business litigation. He has extensive experience in asbestos defense litigation, including product identification, liability issues, appearance work and medical aspects of defense of both manufacturers and suppliers.
Ward, based in Holland, is a member of the firm?s litigation practice group. Her primary area of practice is civil litigation, with special expertise in products liability defense and records management systems. She has experience defending claims involving complex engineering issues with an emphasis on vehicle electronic components and pneumatic tools. She also assists manufacturers in pre-litigation matters involving precautionary consumer communications (warnings, instruction manuals, and post-sale activity), warranty reviews and assessments of governmental agency reporting requirements.
