GRAND RAPIDS – The Product Development and Management Association West Michigan Chapter will host Grand Rapids native Fred Keller, chairman and CEO of Cascade Engineering, at its February 18 event, where he will discuss his vision on how products can be developed to meet customer needs while contributing to the restoration of the environment.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is being held at the Prince Conference Center, 1800 East Beltline SE in Grand Rapids.

A materials engineer by training, Keller founded the company in 1973. It has since evolved from a small plastics manufacturer into a 1,000-employee company with 12 facilities worldwide. Keller recently received the 2007 Michigan Diversification Achievement in Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive & Materials Award by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

A strong advocate for sustainable business practices, Keller has emphasized the key role business can play in building financial, social and ecological capital.

PDMA?s West Michigan Chapter holds monthly meetings in the Grand Rapids area to improve the effectiveness of employees, students, and organizations by actively bringing innovative presenters, concepts and ideas to its membership. The chapter focuses on networking and partnering to advance and promote Western Michigan?s strong product development community.
