DETROIT – Beginning Sunday, AT&T Michigan customers now have access to nearly 90 retail locations statewide as the company transitions former Centennial-branded stores to AT&T. The rebranding follows AT&T’s acquisition of Centennial Communications Corp. on Nov. 5, 2009.
This weekend, more than 100 Centennial stores in Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio and Texas will undergo a branding transformation and shelves will be stocked with the latest AT&T wireless products and services including quick messaging devices, industry-leading smartphones and business service plans.
AT&T’s customers already have access to a larger mobile footprint as a result of this transaction, with no roaming charges. As the Centennial network assets are integrated throughout 2010, many customers will also benefit from the launch of 3G mobile broadband service in new markets and the additional 850 MHz spectrum that provides better in-building coverage.
“Wireless technology continues to be the way of the future and through this transaction, more Michigan consumers will have access to the most innovative devices and fastest wireless broadband speeds available,” said State Sen. Mike Nofs.
“Constantly working to give our customers the best experience and best products possible is always our goal,” said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan. “This transition will allow us to do that for more wireless customers across the state.”
