ANN ARBOR – International business transactions attorney Joseph W. Kimmell has joined Butzel Long as a shareholder in the firm?s Ann Arbor office. He will concentrate on the firm’s China and India practices.
He also has significant experience working with state and local economic development entities on complex public/private development projects. He served eight years as Corporation Counsel for the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Kimmell has experience representing both United States and Chinese business entities. He devotes the majority of his domestic practice to the representation of corporate and individual business clientele in domestic and Chinese business matters. In addition to acting as general counsel to such clientele, he represents purchaser groups in corporate and business acquisitions.
Prior to joining Butzel Long, Kimmell served for six years as chair of the International Practice of the law firm of Baker & Daniels, spending extended periods in the firm?s Washington, D.C. and China offices.
