SOUTHFIELD – Computing Source, an all-in-one digital evidence and legal support firm, announced Tuesday that it has acquired MuniDeals. Both are based in Southfield. Terms were not announced.
MuniDeals provides municipal finance professionals with services designed to streamline their workflow, including financial printing and specialized digital portals. The company, which serves public sectors including education and local government, will remain under the same name and retain the existing team, but will now operate as a business unit of Computing Source. Plans are being made to relocate the firm within an existing or new Computing Source facility.
MuniDeals was founded in 2004 by Jim and Jay Higgins. Jim, who had extensive experience in the legal support industry through his business, American Reprographic Systems, Inc., and the development of DocuTag, the premier automated numbering system widely used by today’s law firms and corporate counsel, recognized a need in the financial and municipal communities for an expert printer and technology partner.
During 2013, Computing Source grew from 20 to more than 100 employees, opened new offices in Chicago, Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor, acquired demonstrative evidence and trial presentation firm Evidence Express, and doubled its service offerings to meet every single need attorneys may have from the beginning to the end of every case. This is only the beginning, as the firm is currently opening a new office in Indianapolis, with locations in Cleveland, Milwaukee and more on the horizon.
