DETROIT – Compuware Corp. announced on Monday the mainframe computer software company will award $1 million to a business customer of its mainframe software with the best story about its use and cost savings.
The contest is meant to increase awareness by customers of cost savings and efficiencies possible by using Compuware’s products.
The rules require participants in Compuware’s Mainframe Cost Savings Program to take part in a free cost-savings assessment in order to become eligible for the grand prize. Participants must also maintain a mainframe software contract during the program.
These customers will have until Nov. 30, 2010 to submit short stories about the successful use and savings realized during the mainframe software?s use.
The stories will be judged by a panel of industry experts and Compuware executives on January 31, 2011, Rowe said.
“We wanted to do something that was really provocative and compelling,” said Rose Rowe, Compuware’s vice president of mainframe strategy.
All stories are entered with a nondisclosure agreement, Rowe said, meaning that the stories will not be used in future marketing campaigns.
Nine runners-up will also receive a $100,000 credit toward purchase of new Compuware products.
