DETROIT – Compuware Corp. on Monday launched its new IT Service Management for Healthcare business to monitor IT systems at hospitals and other health care centers through an electronic medical records, picture archival and communication systems, and computerized physician order entry called Vantage.
“Healthcare IT departments everywhere have a clear mandate to enable
better, more efficient patient care through high-performing technology
systems,” said Larry Angeli, Vice President, Healthcare Vertical, Compuware. “Compuware is in a unique position to help the industry
leverage its sizable investment in these clinical systems to improve their
availability and performance. The result will be improved service levels,
increased ROI and happier and healthier patients.”
Gartner Research Director Barry Runyon said his company is strongly encouraging health-care delivery organizations to respond to the combination of growing complexity and the full-time, real-time operation by investing in their own management capabilities so they can become proactive about service delivery.
To successfully meet this challenge, IT organizations are opting for a
service focus as viewed by their clients – the physicians and clinicians
that deliver patient care. IT requires clinicians to proactively find, prioritize and resolve technology problems before they hurt patient care. Vantage will help them do that, said Detroit Medical Center CIO Mike LeRoy
“Our success is based on IT partnering with
our clinical staff to deliver excellent service to our patients,” he said. “Compuware’s solutions have been an integral part of our
success. Vantage helps us master the complexity of our environment and find
and resolve problems before they impact patient care.”
