SOUTHFIELD – The 2008 da Vinci Awards search committee is now accepting nominations worldwide for pioneering inventions or research, developed by corporations or individuals, that enables people with disabilities to participate and contribute to all aspects of society. Submissions are due by May 19.
The da Vinci Awards benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan Chapter and will take place on Saturday evening, Sept. 20, 2008 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dearborn.
Nominees come from a number of countries and represent a broad spectrum of sciences, technologies and industries. The da Vinci Awards also recognize those individuals and corporations who distinguish themselves as visionaries in the quest for equal access and opportunity for all people regardless of ability.
The National MS Society understands well the difficulties people experience when faced with physical disabilities. Adaptive and assistive technologies play an important role in helping people overcome physical limitations. The Michigan Chapter?s da Vinci Awards has become a prestigious international symbol of recognition highlighting innovations which are designed to enable everyone to participate and contribute in all aspects of society.
