GRAND RAPIDS – Dematic, supplier of logistics systems for the factory, warehouse and the distribution center, has opened a new Technology Center in Europe. The new Technology Center, located near Frankfurt, Germany, is a logistics solution demonstration facility.
The center features multiple integrated material handling solutions designed to optimize logistics processes, increase productivity, and reduce operational costs. The featured solution sets include: goods to person order selection, mixed case palletizing, automated storage buffers, and load sequencing. The technologies featured include Modular Conveyor System, Dematic Multishuttle, Automated Mixed Case Palletizing (AMCAP), ErgoPAL (Ergonomic operator assisted palletizing), pallet conveyor and DC Director (WCS Suite of software).
Dematic can demonstrate typical business critical material flow scenarios in the new Technology Center. The Technology Center has been configured so that continuous material flows from goods storage, sequenced picking, order consolidation and buffering, right through to fully or semi-automated palletizing are possible. Depending on specific customer requirements, different scenarios and systems combinations can be demonstrated using WCS software and controls. Dematic also has a Technology Center located in Grand Rapids and Sydney, Australia.
