TRAVERSE CITY – It’s that time of year again, back to school! Because of last year’s overwhelming success Charter Media is bringing Operation School Supplies to the Grand Traverse Area again. This year, Master Dry Cleaners is sponsoring the program through August 31 at four locations around the Traverse City area. School supplies will be collected and distributed locally so that all children have what they need to start the school year.

It’s more imperative than ever that we meet or exceed the success of 2008 with this program. We need to give our children every chance at having the necessary tools to excel. Last year Operation School Supplies benefitted 6 schools in the Grand Traverse area touching the lives of children age kindergarten to 12th grade. The need is anticipated to be greater in 2009 and we know our neighbors will ensure that need is met.

Operations School Supplies, a Charter Media program, is a school supply drive that combines the resources of a local business and Charter Media. In this case, Charter Media is partnering with Master Dry Cleaners to collect school supplies. Charter Media and Master Dry Cleaners want to make a difference in a child’s life by distributing school supplies to those in need locally. Drop off locations are as follows: Eighth at Woodmere, Holiday Road near US31, Pine Street on the curve near the post office, and on 14th Street next to Ming’s Chinese Restaurant.

“Operation School Supplies is a great way to help the local kids,” said Jon Conant, owner of Master Dry Cleaners. “The donations go to the kids in our own backyard. We look forward to the community’s participation and are glad to host this worthwhile cause.”

Charter Media is the cable television advertising division of Charter Communications, a national provider of telecommunications services.
