ANN ARBOR – Pendleton Woolen Mills has hired Fry Inc. to design and host its new eCommerce web site for the sixth-generation, family-owned apparel and blanket manufacturing company, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year.

Fry was purchased last year by MICROS Systems, and is part of the MICROS-Retail group. Founder David Fry continues to run Fry under contract.

Scheduled to launch summer 2009, Fry will build the site using its Open Commerce Platform, an e-commerce solution that enables retailers to quickly and economically develop an online store and expand their e-commerce business. OCP will allow Pendleton??s small dedicated staff to better manage merchandising and promotions. Fry’s OCP will be integrated with CommercialWare’s CWDirect Order Management, another solution in the MICROS-Retail portfolio, as part of an overall cross channel strategy.

Selected for Fry??s full-service capabilities in multi-channel retail, e-commerce development, creative design and hosting, the launch of the site will reflect Pendleton??s 100 years of providing the best in quality and American-made woolen products.

Pendleton Woolen Mills manages wool manufacturing from purchasing wool directly from the growers to selling the finished garment or blanket/home product. The company now offers a complete selection of exclusive, seasonal apparel for men and women in nonwool fabrics as well. This year Pendleton celebrates 100 Years of Weaving America??s Spirit to commemorate the century since the first Pendleton blanket rolled off the looms in Pendleton, Oregon. Pendleton products are available Online, in Pendleton catalogs, at select department and specialty stores, and at Pendleton retail stores nationwide.
