She has 29 years of experience in the health industry, including

22 years of experience representing nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations, and serving as in-house counsel for the third largest Catholic health care system in the United States, where she represented numerous tax exempt subsidiaries in transactions and joint ventures with taxable for profit entities.

Patton graduated from Wayne State University Law School

Patton is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan and is a current member and former Chair of the Health Care Law Section. She served

as Editor of Newsletter; Editor of Record Retention Manual and Consent Manual; Collaborated with ICLE on first co-sponsored Health Care Law Institute; and served as a Council Member. She also is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section, and served on the Nonprofit Corporation Subcommittee. Her memberships also include the National Health Lawyers Association and the Michigan Society of Health Care Attorneys, where she formerly served on the Board of Directors.
