PORTAGE ? Manatron has been awarded the contracts for Iowa’s Polk and Linn counties, which will use Manatron’s GRM integrated property tax software and related professional services. No dollar value was announced.
Through a competitive RFP process, Polk County selected Manatron. Polk, Iowa’s largest county, which also includes the state?s largest city (Des Moines), serves a constituency of more than 430,000 and its offices are responsible for the property tax revenues exceeding $1 billion annually. Manatron expects to launch the GRM software in Polk County in late 2011.
Linn County, the second largest county in Iowa, has a population of 200,000 and its offices are responsible for the billing, collection and apportionment of property tax revenues of more than $300 million annually. Manatron plans to roll out the first components of its Linn County GRM installation in late 2011.
The counties were seeking to replace their current systems with updated software capable of integrating key departments. Manatron’s GRM software is a Microsoft .NET-established program that is entirely web-based. It includes cutting-edge technology that improves system accessibility, while also improving overall data security. The program is expected to reduce work for treasurer?s departments and IT staff, thanks to an integrated database and automatic interfaces allowing user-friendly functionality and customizable features.
As part of their service contract with Manatron, Polk and Linn counties will receive ongoing software and technical support, legislative updates, product enhancements, integration with the latest technology and new software releases as they become available.
