TROY – Media Genesis has partnered with Claim Your Youth, a division of the Credit Union Association of New Mexico, to deliver digital tools to help credit unions connect with young members.
Credit unions often struggle to attract young members. At a time when credit unions are merging and the number of credit unions is shrinking, Claim Your Youth is tackling their challenges by offering credit unions across the U.S. and Canada novel ways to connect with young people and foster lifelong relationships with their members and their communities.
Byron Porter, the manager of marketing culture at Claim Your Youth, made attracting an audience of the future a top priority. He brought in Media Genesis to rebuild their websites, KirbyKangaroo.com and ClaimYourYouth.com, and to create new tools, including sites for Lil? Kirby Roo and Claim Your Youth Culture and a youth-oriented mobile app for iOS.
The app, Kirby?s Catch and Save, is kid-friendly and designed to encourage awareness and understanding of savings while kids play a game they enjoy. Kirby Kangaroo?, the mascot of the Kirby Kangaroo? Club, has been around for a decade, and Media Genesis helped breathe new life into the character with the mobile game for the iPhone and iPad, which has a 4.5 out of 5-star rating on iTunes.
?Media Genesis has become a true partner in our youth programs,? said Porter. ?They?re intimately involved in our youth outreach, everything from strategic planning to designing and developing digital and physical materials, writing content, and in general helping us fill in the blanks of our programs.?
Media Genesis underwrote the Claim Your Youth conference. The conference brought together credit union marketers from across the country to learn about new strategies and technologies to engage and educate young people on financial awareness and encourage them to consider credit unions.
?The Claim Your Youth assignment allows us to apply our expertise broadly and to be creative in an area that?s promoting some societal good,? said Antoine Dubeauclard, President of Media Genesis. ?They?re trying to create a financial culture that will stay with these kids for the rest of their lives. For us, it?s a case of doing well by doing good.?
