GRAND HAVEN ? Corporate training solutions provider Media1 has won four awards from the Society for Technical Communication’s Effective Communication Competition, including Best of Show.
The Best of Show awards was given for its work on the Meijer Effective Selling course. The Western Michigan Chapter will sponsor sending this course on to the STC International Competition, where it will compete against the best online communications selected from STC competitions held around the world.
In addition, the HP Standards of Business Conduct web-based training course garnered an Award of Excellence. This course is part of the HP Standards of Excellence suite of courses and is highly interactive and engaging in nature. Merit Awards were given for two more courses developed for HP: PC Common Operating Environment 3.0, and Remote Monitoring Service Center User Training.
The STC competitions encourage excellence and recognize exemplary efforts in online communication, technical art, and technical publications. STC offers two levels of competition: local and regional competitions, and the international competition. Entries were submitted from organizations located throughout Western Michigan. Judging is a peer-review format. Submissions in each category were rated on overall organization, writing quality, graphic design/layout, and achievement of the course or publication in its role.
A banquet honoring this year?s award recipients will be held April 2 in Grand Rapids.
