NORTHVILLE – Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America Inc. is offering a Blu-ray player for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs. The Blu-ray player is part of the Chrysler Group?s rear seat entertainment system supplied by Mitsubishi.
The system features two 9-inch folding screens mounted on the seatbacks and a player located in the center console. The system is operated via a handheld remote control or by the radio screen in the instrument panel.
Each of the two VGA-quality screens can independently display a video from the console-mounted Blu-ray player, or from auxiliary jacks that are mounted on the sides of the front seats, and can accommodate RCA and HDMI inputs. The system accommodates standard dvds in addition to Blu-ray discs.
?We are pleased to supply these systems to Chrysler Group and its customers,? said Mike Antrim, director, Audio/Video/Communications (AVC) Marketing, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America. ?Mitsubishi Electric was the first to integrate a Blu-ray player into an original equipment manufacturer?s RSE system application, which we did in 2012. The Blu-ray system we are supplying to Chrysler demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality and most up-to-date RSE systems to our customers.?
Blu-ray is currently supported by approximately 200 of the world?s leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game and music companies. Movie studios also are transitioning to Blu-ray as a successor to the standard DVD format.
