STERLING HEIGHTS – Donna Zobel, president and CEO of Myron Zucker, has been appointed to the 2010 U.S. Manufacturing Council by Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.
Zobel joins 24 other American business leaders, including four others from Michigan, who will advise the Obama administration on matters relating to the competitiveness of the U.S. manufacturing sector, and government policies and programs that affect U.S. manufacturers. The Commerce Department will schedule the Council?s inaugural meeting in the coming weeks.
The Council, which is directed by the Department of Commerce?s International Trade Administration, was established in 2004 and recently re-chartered.
Zobel was a guest panelist last year at a White House conference on energy, and spoke at a Commerce Department summit on U.S. energy sustainability and manufacturing competitiveness.
