ANN ARBOR ? NEW’s npServe program, which helps non profits improve operating efficiencies, has been awarded a $150,000 grant over three years by the Lloyd and Mabel Johnson Foundation.
NEW will use the money to continue development of npServ and recruit additional staff. NEW offers a portfolio of services to nonprofit organizations in Southeast Michigan and elsewhere in the U.S. though partners.
?The Foundation has been a supporter of NEW for a long time,? says Susan Katz Froning, CEO of NEW. ?We’re extremely pleased that they have recognized the potential for transformative impact that the npServ program brings to the sector.?
The privately endowed Lloyd and Mabel Johnson Foundation, based in Brighton, was established in 1990 to reduce human suffering and enrich the quality of life through Christian faith-based ministries and health, educational, and community-related services. Its office uses npServ networking services.
?What NEW does is extremely valuable,? says Foundation President Gordon Kummer. ?We gave the grant in hopes that NEW can carry out its five-year plan to market to a wide base of nonprofits and become less dependent on grant funding. npServ provides a wonderful service to nonprofits.?
