ANN ARBOR – Online Tech will be participating in World IPv6 Day on June 8 and have added their web site to the list of ISOC verified and approved participants.

World IPv6 Day is being put together by the Internet Society (or ISOC) in order to ?test flight? IPv6 on a larger scale. The main goal of this ?test flight? is motivate companies, ISPs, and other contributing companies to begin transitioning to IPv6 as we begin to run out of IPv4 Addresses.

For this event, onlinetech.com, will be IPv6 enabled for 24 hours on June 8th. A dedicated website, ipv6.onlinetech.com is already available with the IPv6 protocol.

?We wanted to go through all of the steps and protocols required to be live with an IPv6 address for ourselves before offering addresses to our clients in 2012,? says Mike Klein, President of Online Tech. ?Understanding what’s involved puts us in a better position to help our data center hosting customers.?

Other companies such as Google, Facebook, and Yahoo! will also be participating in this event to help motivate the industry to start making the transition to IPv6.
