AUBURN HILLS – Plex Systems Monday announced the appointment of Edwin J. Gillis, who has held senior level positions at Skype and Avaya, to its board of directors. Gillis joins the five-member Board and will head the newly formed audit committee.

Gillis is currently a member of the board of directors of LogMeIn, Responsys and Teradyne, as well as several private technology companies. He led audit committees at BladeLogic and EqualLogic until their acquisition by BMC Software and Dell, respectively.
Gillis has held senior level positions at companies including Skype and Avaya, providing guidance and counsel during mergers and acquisitions. Earlier, he was a senior vice president of administration and integration at Symantec Corporation, which he joined as a result of Symantec?s merger with VERITAS Software Corporation where he had been the chief financial officer. Previously, Gillis was chief financial officer at Parametric Technology Corporation and Lotus Development Corporation and an audit partner at Coopers & Lybrand.
Gillis holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Clark University, a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Southern California and a master’s in business administration from Harvard Business School.
