AUBURN HILLS – Plex Systems Inc., provider of Plex Online FSMS, the leading Food Safety Management System, announced the upcoming Food Processing Thought Leadership webinar, Four Steps to Improving Food Tracing, on Sept. 27.
Former FDA Associate Commissioner of Foods Dr. David Acheson and Leavitt Partners Senior Director Dr. Jennifer McEntire will outline the four critical steps in improving processors? food tracing capabilities. McEntire led the product-tracing pilot studies required by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), conducted by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) for the FDA, which included a series of recommendations on traceability improvements. The report findings and recommendations are expected to drive new requirements resulting from FSMA.
Webinar attendees will learn more about tracking data at critical points in processing, capturing key data elements, using barcoding technology to track internal data, and tracing data one-up and one-back along the supply chain. The webinar begins at 1 p.m.
