AUBURN HILLS – Plex Systems announced that independent research from Boston-based Aberdeen Group reveals Plex Online users are more likely to achieve Best-in-Class performance than those manufacturers using Enterprise Resource Planning software solutions from other vendors.

The study, “Manufacturing Operations Management: Capitalizing on the Economic Recovery,” concludes that manufacturers using Plex Online ERP, delivered as a software as a service (SaaS), outperform the users of other manufacturing IT systems in a number of key areas, including tracking complete enterprise operations and supplier performance in real time; achieving real-time visibility between operations and customer orders; and easily monitoring global operations.

Manufacturers from a range of sectors (automotive, food processing, medical equipment, etc.) achieve this visibility with Plex Online?s intuitive features that increase efficiency from the shop floor to the top floor.

Notes Matthew Littlefield, Aberdeen?s senior manufacturing research analyst, “Our findings show that users of Plex Online outperform the users of other manufacturing operations management systems and the industry average. It turns out that those manufacturers using Plex Online take a much broader perspective as to what area of their operations should be managed within a solution. Subsequently, with this broader footprint in place, Plex Online users are much more likely to implement a number of critical business processes for achieving Best-in-Class performance.”

“Manufacturers face a challenging competitive landscape with the constant pressures of global competition, escalating material and labor costs, changing customer mandates, and variable market demand,” said Mark Symonds, president and CEO of Auburn Hills-based Plex Systems. “These research findings demonstrate that Plex Online is a powerful means to increase production efficiency and profitability.”
