GRAND RAPIDS – US Signal has enhanced its infrastructure as a service offering by adding another cloud ready data center located within its Midwest fiber footprint to let customers custom craft a secure and cost-effective backup and recovery solution.

Customer data traditionally utilizes a leased private network or the public Internet when accessing cloud services. Unlike most competitors that meter and charge for accessing a virtual data center, US Signal offers customers unmetered bandwidth utilization.

“Having a strong Cloud Services offering integrated with our carrier class network allows us to push performance and cost benefits to our customers. Customers use as much bandwidth as they need without worrying about performance degradation or cost thresholds,” said Matt VanderZwaag, director of product development.

With US Signal’s exclusively owned and operated backbone as connectivity between data centers, customers achieve the private and secure data transport they desire when implementing backup and disaster recovery initiatives.

“The key to a successful disaster recovery plan, backup strategy, or dispersed application hosting is to have your data there when you need it,? VanderZwaag said. ?Our network performance and data center architecture optimizes data availability and throughput ? this means fast application access and recovery times.?

During the past several years, US Signal has continued to expand its fiber optic network which is now one of the largest, fully deployed networks in the Midwest, covering Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Missouri. With over 14,000 miles of lit fiber and metro rings in 23 strategic tier-one, tier-two and tier-three markets, the US Signal optical backbone features Cisco Systems latest carrier class architecture.
