BENTON HARBOR – Verizon Wireless has activated four new cell sites that expand network coverage and capacity in Berrien County, and two new cell sites that expand network coverage in Kalamazoo.
In Benton Harbor, the new cell sites improve Verizon Wireless�?? voice and data network coverage around the Four Winds Casino and along the following major roads: Shawnee Road from Holden Road to Burgoyne Road,
U.S. Route 12 from South Phillips Road to Mt. Zion Road,
Interstate 94 from Meadowbrook Road to East Empire
In Kalamazoo, the two new sites improve coverage along Michigan Highway 89 from North 38th Street to 44th Street as well as along E H Avenue and 30th Street east of downtown Kalamazoo.

Verizon Wireless has invested more than $48 billion since it was formed – $5.5 billion on average every year- to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. More than $1.8 billion of this investment has been spent in Michigan since 2000. Through the end of the third quarter of this year, the company had invested nearly $83 million in Michigan network improvements.
