DETROIT – Security Innovation won Best Auto Cybersecurity Product for Aerolink, which implements high speed communications security for connected vehicles, at last night’s 2016 TU Automotive Awards at the Novi Expo Center.
“We were honored to be a finalist for such a prestigious award and thrilled when we were announced the winner,” said Pete Samson, General Manager of Security Innovation’s embedded division. “This is not only a tribute to the dedication and skill of our research and engineering teams, but also is recognition of the importance of the V2X market and potentially the most significant safety improvement since the seat belt.”
Security Innovation is a member of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan.
“With more than 400 nominations for this year’s TU-Automotive Award, the selection process was challenging,” said Emilie Lablanc, awards director, TU-Automotive. “Security Innovation’s Aerolink product stood out as a leader in the Auto Cybersecurity Product/Service category because it is a flexible solution that is effectively addressing the highly critical mission of securing V2V communication.”
Aerolink is an award-winning implementer of high speed communications security for connected vehicles based on the IEEE 1609.2 standard. First deployed in 2007, Aerolink has been continually evolving in parallel with the evolving standards, to remain the most up-to-date implementation of message authentication and user privacy for the Connected Vehicle system.
Aerolink has been selected to provide security and privacy for the 2017 Cadillac CTS, the first commercially available vehicle with V2V capabilities. Among other early adopters, Renesas Electronics has included Aerolink in their R-Car V2X reference design. It has also been successfully implemented in the majority of Ann Arbor Safety Pilot vehicles through a program sponsored by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute.
Since 2002, Security Innovation has been a trusted partner for cybersecurity risk analysis and mitigation for the world’s leading companies, including Microsoft, Sony, GM, Disney, Google and Dell. For more information, click on www.securityinnovation.com.
