NOVI – SAE 2016 Convergence will culminate its premiere annual event with a full day seminar on the future of Connected Vehicles being offered by industry partner Mobile Comply September 21 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
“The evolution in mobility engineering requires input and ideas from a much wider community of partners,” said Convergence General Chair James Buczkowski, Henry Ford Technical Fellow and Director, Electrical and Electronics Systems, Ford Motor Company “Convergence promotes collaboration and the exchange of innovations oriented toward great mobility encounters for users.”
With the theme: Personal Mobility – Creating a Smart and Autonomous Journey, SAE 2016 Convergence will explore the technology space that enables such smart mobility – electronics, embedded and off-board software, connectivity, autonomy, alternative propulsion, and modes of transport. In order to build a foundation for these technologies, Mobile Comply will be offering “Introduction to Connected Vehicles.” The four-hour course introduces participants to the evolution and future of connected vehicles. Concepts explored in the course lay a foundation in Intelligent Transportation Systems and terminology integral to success in this industry. Introduction to Connected Vehicles introduces topics that are driving the automotive industry such as, the rapid advances in on-board processing power, wireless communications, and cloud analytics. The course will examine these concepts from automotive engineering, software and communications, and market perspectives.
“It has been a passion of ours to aid in the growth of the community by bringing awareness to the ever-evolving Connected and Autonomous Vehicle environment,” said Elaina Farnsworth, CEO of Mobile Comply. “The training required for the workforce to support the convergence of technologies needs to begin before these technologies are widely adopted. It is only through dedicated partnerships, such as those with SAE that we can increase the visibility of Intelligent Transportation and promote mobility worldwide.”
