ZEELAND – Lakeshore Advantage announced Monday that it has awarded Volta Power Systems $12,900 from the Business Accelerator Fund, the second cash award given Volta. The money will be used for the commercialization of Volta’s business.

This is Volta’s second award; to date they have received over $32,000 from the BAF. Volta Power Systems is an advanced energy storage systems provider. They design safe, high performance energy and power solutions to luxury RV and commercial vehicle industries.

Volta Power Systems provides access to the latest in technology without the engineering and development investment. Just recently Volta launched a smaller version of their fully integrated power system.

“Support of the Lakeshore Advantage team to procure BAF funds helped us truly accelerate our product offerings that helped us win key business for 2016,” said Jack Johnson, director of operations and new business development at Volta.

Thirteen Michigan business accelerators helped develop the Business Accelerator Fund program, which is supported by the Michigan Small Business Development Center’s (MI-SBDC) business consulting, entrepreneurial education, and information based planning services.

“The BAF is a statewide business accelerator tool that funds services for companies looking to advance their technology,” Angela Huesman, VP of talent and innovation solutions at Lakeshore Advantage. “We had the opportunity to engage with Volta, which helped them receive funds to commercialize their products and grow their company.”
