ROYAL OAK – Lori Emerson, Talent Connector at AmyCell LLC, works with recruiters to promote the IT talent in the region. One of these is the Software Talent And Retention (STAR) program that helps match recently graduated software talent with Michigan employers seeking software developers.
Whether you are a student seeking an internship, an experienced developer seeking your next full-time gig, or an employer looking for talent, the STAR Program is the intersection of “all things software talent,” Emerson said. The STAR program – run by Ann Arbor SPARK but managed by AmyCell – has many elements that support Michigan employers and software developers that want to live, work and play in Michigan.
Another program available is the Software Matchmaker. Job seekers anonymously submit their skill sets that then are circulated in a newsletter to employers who then can contact the Software Matchmaker to follow up.
AmyCell works closely with start-ups in the region who don’t have the resources for talent recruiters and can work a la carte. Many of these start-ups work out of the Ann Arbor SPARK incubator.
