ROYAL OAK – Keith Schoenberger, an Intellectual Property attorney with Young Basile, in this episode of M2 TechCast will tell you how to tell a good patent from a bad one.
In the podcast, he answers the following questions:
We’re talking about the quality of a patent. What does it mean for a patent to be good or bad?
Are there indicators that someone can use to figure out whether a patent is high quality?
How are patents used to attract investors?
What do investors look for in a patent?
What do you mean when you say work around the patent?
Is this related to the other indicator you mentioned, about asserting a patent against competitors?
Why doesn’t everyone get broadly claimed patents?
Can you give us an example about a claim that is good and broad versus one that is bad and narrow?
What can our listeners do to maximize the chances of getting high quality patents?
