FERNDALE – Lawrence Technological University started hosting Summer Science Camps four years ago during Michigan’s recession to rekindle the idea that Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) were still educational programs that lead to great paying jobs. Four years later, STEAM jobs are in great demand as is LTU’s Science Camp. Last year’s camp attracted more than 500 high school students, some 45 percent of which decided to attend LTU. Lisa Kujawa, Assistant Provost for Enrollment at LTU, talks about the 20 programs offered at this year’s summer camp. She expects them all to fill up by May. So if your high school-age student wants to have a college-level experience that could inspire them to pursue high-paying and rewarding careers in STEAM professions, you need to act quickly. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
