ROYAL OAK – Lisa Diggs is the founder of BuyMichiganNow.Com, a website devoted to promoting Michigan-made products. Last weekend, she held the BuyMichiganNow festival in downtown Northville that hosted 170 businesses in the street, plus all the Northville retailers. Patio furniture made from recycled milk jugs, skin care products, foods, beers, the lot. MITechNews.Com Editor was there sampling the beers and food.
If you missed this event, Diggs hosts other BuyMichiganNow events. In October a festival is scheduled in Jackson. Earlier this year, she hosted a festival in Frankenmuth. BuyMichiganNow is looking for host cities in Northern and Western Michigan. She’s hoping Traverse City and Grand Rapids will volunteer.
Diggs started her website in 2007. It is now open to any Michigan-based business. Users can search by keywords. By business names. By business types. What started as a grocery guide and gift ideas for the Holidays, has morphed into a much deeper directory.
