ROYAL OAK – M2 TechCast Co-Hosts Mike Brennan and Matt Roush both attended the press preview days at the North American International Auto Show and in this podcast shared their observations, including the future of Autonomous Vehicles a big theme in the basement of Cobo Center where 57 auto mobility companies showed off their latest technology.
There is a new effort underway to get kids into skilled trades where tens of thousand of jobs go a begging, particularly in the auto industry. Auto mechanics, machining, CNC operators are all desperately needed.
They also discuss some of the cars and trucks on premiered on the auto show floor. Car and truck prices, when you really trick them out, are pushing $60,000. You can either have a vacation home or a truck. Some four million lease cars are coming off lease this year, offering attractive used car options. The common denominator is all of these vehicles are very connected to the Internet, and in the future to each other and the environment around them.
