ROYAL OAK – Tony Matthews, PhD, the CEO of the Michigan Science Center talks about her innovative STEMinista program for middle school girls from fourth to eight grade to learn more about Science, Technology Engineering and Math. Businesses are seeking to diversify their workforces, and unfortunately less than 30 percent of professionals in STEM are female.

STEMinistas meet at the Michigan Science Center for STEMinista Saturdays, overnight events, and hackathons. On Saturday March 11 the Michigan Science Center celebrated the first anniversary of the program, attracting hundreds of young women.
