ROYAL OAK – Quade Finnigan a senior consultant at Red Level Networks tells business folks they don’t need to be afraid of cloud computing. Although he was an early skeptic, he’s now a convert to the advantages including the safety and security levels. Finnigan last month published a blog post at Red Level entitled, Don’t be Afraid of the Cloud.
In this segment of M2 TechCast, he talks about how Red Level uses the cloud and also encourages its clients to do the same. For a marginal fee, Red Level helps its clients connect to the Microsoft Cloud anywhere in the world. He calls it the Fort Knox of Data. Finnegan also said Microsoft Azure makes backup and disaster recovery easy, but how it is implemented depends on the unique needs of any given infrastructure and their accepted recovery policies.
He also discusses the terms backup and disaster recovery and explains the difference. In Microsoft Azure (Azure Site Recovery) works like a DVR for TVs where you can go back in time and pick up where you left off. Microsoft Azure also backs up all your data seamlessly eliminating the old practice of finding your data on streaming tapes.
