ANN ARBOR – Recently many of the world’s automakers that declared earlier they would not build vehicles in the next decade other than electric-powered cars and trucks, have now throttled back those mandates.

With sales of EVs not as robust as the federal and state governments would like, many automakers have announced plans to build more hybrid-electric models that use both electricity and internal combustion engines.

Long-time auto journalist Paul Eisenstein now with Headlight.News joins the conversation with Matt Roush and Mike Brennan on MITech TV to provide more details on exactly which automakers are making this shift and why.

He also discusses some of the hybrid vehicles on the market or in development.
