ANN ARBOR – The Hemp industry in Michigan thrived 80 years ago. Then prohibition came. Under the 2018 Farm Bill Hemp was made legal to grow again, but the rebirth has been rocky at best.

Dave Crabill, president of iHemp Michigan, appears on MITech TV to talk about what’s need to make Hemp thrive once again. Strong demand from businesses, such as the auto industry, would give farmers confidence to grow hemp.

The state of Michigan providing financial incentives also would help. But so far state government has not supported hemp, Crabill said.
