What Tariffs Mean To The Auto Industry

DETROIT – President Trump’s Tariffs Are Already Hitting the Auto Industry Hard. Long-time auto journalist Paul Eisenstein, at Headlight.News, said Michigan will feel the tariffs’ impact especially hard on the state’s largest industry.

The impact comes in a number of ways. Those Include:

1) Higher prices on foreign-made vehicles

2) Higher prices on US vehicles that use foreign parts

3) Higher prices on auto repairs, since many vehicle parts are made outside the United States

4) Higher insurance prices due to the tariffs’ impact on parts and repair costs

5) Lower new vehicle production in the United States
