GRAND RAPIDS – Six high school students will gain valuable hands-on experience in the software design and development process and assist in the creation of a mobile app in the Groundhog Shadow day Program Feb. 2.

Organized by the Kent Intermediate School District, the Groundhog Shadow Day Program helps students throughout Kent County prepare for a career in a field of their interest. Students may choose from one of up to 300 roles to shadow for a day to gain a better understanding of the industry, day-to-day operations and responsibilities at C2, and educational requirements for obtaining successful employment.

“We’re excited to continue our involvement with the Groundhog Shadow Day Program and in doing our part to promote interest in the high-demand technology field,” C2 Managing Partner Michael Kunzler said. “This is a great opportunity to both educate and provide mentorship to students who represent the future of our industry.”

At C2, students will work closely with in-house designers, user experience architects, and developers, to help create a mobile app, gaining a better understanding of what goes into the technology they use on their favorite devices along the way.

Students will be at the C2 offices, located at 560 Fifth St. NW in downtown Grand Rapids, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. This marks the second year of C2’s involvement with the Groundhog Shadow Day Program.
