GRAND RAPIDS – Family Christian’s Give Hope Campaign has raised more than $137,000 to help individuals in need by providing education, food and water to those without proper access.
Key partnerships include:
Back2Back Ministries: $25,532 will provide orphan care in Monterrey Mexico
Pray America: $69,923 will provide famine relief to feed over 9,000 individuals for up to 40 days
World Vision: $42,387 will provide clean water for one year to over 11,500 people
“It is a privilege for Family Christian to help those in need, and it is all possible through the generosity of our guests that we can provide basic needs of food, water and education,” said Mike Bowles, Associate Vice President, Ministry Partnerships. “When guests shop at Family Christian, they are contributing to our efforts to support our mission partners who are giving hope to families in need around the world.”
Back2Back Ministries is an international Christian nonprofit organization that provides holistic care for orphans and vulnerable children. Their Hope Program allows orphans and children the chance to live in a family-style setting, receive scholarships and training while providing emotional, and social and spiritual support.
Pray America/Manos de Jesus focuses on feeding Chichicastenango Guatemalan families who are continuing to suffer from a 2014 drought which dramatically lowered their food supply. The ministry recently completed the construction of a bodega which is used to store dry, natural food including corn, rice, beans and salt. The food stored in the bodega will keep 10,000 Guatemalans fed for one year.
World Vision is the leading non-governmental agency provider of clean water in the world. Globally, 748 million people do not have access to clean water. Their reach works to decrease this deficit by giving one new person clean water every 30 seconds.
