GRAND RAPIDS – Grand Circus has partnered with Start Garden to offer coding workshops in October.
But first Grand Circus is hosting a free Intro to Coding Workshop in Grand rapids on Sept. 27. RSVP.
“We continue to see the need for developers increase throughout Michigan, and we’re excited to bring our .NET (C#) coding bootcamp to Grand Rapids,” said Damien Rocchi, CEO of Grand Circus. “By 2020, there will be an estimated 1 million unfilled computer-science jobs. It’s important that qualified training institutes, like Grand Circus, expand to new cities to alleviate this skills gap.”
The .NET Bootcamp will begin October 24 and is a full-time, 10-week program (the first two weeks of this are prework, which is done at home). Our .NET (C#) Developer Bootcamp will introduce you to the fundamentals of enterprise development (.NET), the use of Visual Studio, methods using SQL databases, and how to design and deploy object-oriented applications.
Grand Circus will cover the core software development skills that all .NET based web developers need. Units are divided by tiers and cover core server-side business logic and client side programming, and similar server side programming and persistence. To provide sufficient depth, concepts are taught using one of the most popular tools for a given tier, with an overview of other similar tools that are also popular in today’s job market.
“It’s great to already have alliances with some amazing companies in west Michigan to help support our expansion. Start Garden’s mission is very similar to ours in supporting the entrepreneurial community; we’re looking forward to hosting our first Grand Rapids workshop and info session at their location,” Rocchi continued.
Start Garden is a local startup accelerator located in downtown Grand Rapids founded by Amway scion Rick DeVos. The company’s goal: “to be an accessible destination for entrepreneurs and idea people.” DeVos started Start Garden in 2012 by launching a $15 Million fund to rapidly accelerate experimentation, risk-taking and investment into early stage startups.
