TROY – LG Chem Power announced Wednesday that President and CEO Denise Gray will be serving as the 2016 North American International Auto Show Charity Preview Chair for the March of Dimes.

“I am honored to be leading the effort to support their mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality,” Gray said. “We believe we can provide every baby a healthy start to life by supporting the March of Dimes in their advocacy, research, education and community programs.”

More than one in 10 families in Metro Detroit faces the devastating emotional and financial impact of prematurity. This crisis is the leading cause of blindness, hearing loss, cognitive disabilities and infant mortality. The March of Dimes is working hard locally and across the nation to research causes that threaten the health of infants and educate the community so that every baby is born healthy. The March of Dimes has invested more than $2 million for research at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, and has funded several programs across Michigan that provide women the care they need in at-risk communities.

The 2016 North American International Auto Show Charity Preview is being held on Friday, Jan. 15, at Cobo Center in Detroit. Since 1976, the Charity Preview has raised more than $101 million for Southeastern Michigan children’s charities. The March of Dimes is one of eight charities participating in this prestigious event.
