FERNDALE – M2 TechCast Co-host Mike Brennan calls in live from the North American International Auto Show where Brennan talks about all the cool mobility, and electric-powered vehicles that were debuted. Hybrid electric was the rage, but all electric-powered cars, and fuel-cell powered cars also could be found. In the second half hour, Allison Marrs, the Future City Program Manager for the Engineering Society of Detroit, and General Motors’ Linda Gerhardt talk about the innovative cross-curricular program that lets students in the 6th through 8th grades do things engineers do: identify problems, brainstorm ideas, design solutions, test and retest, build and then share the results. Gerhardt was the engineering mentor for five time-defending state Future City champion and two-time national champion from St. John Lutheran School in Rochester.
