FERNDALE – We’ve got a really interesting show coming up Monday Feb. 22 on M2 TechCast. It features our monthly cybersecurity news with Richard Stiennon and Dan Lohrmann, Enrico Schaefer’s Drone Law update, and a news announcement about Lawrence Tech’s Summer Science Camps for high school kids.
From 3 to 3:30 pm – Richard and Dan will discuss a federal judges order to crack Apple’s iPhone. Also on tap is a look at a cyberattack planned by the U.S. government if nuclear talks with Iran failed. The project was code named Nitro Zeus.
At 3:30 pm – Drone law expert Enrico Schaefer will update our listening audience on drone regulations knows as Part 107, supposedly to go into effect sometime this year. As part of that effort, the U.S. House is considering exempting drones under 5.5 pounds from Part 107 and most other federal aviation regulations. The goal is to more quickly integrate drones into the national airspace, but some warn that a micro-drone rule will compromise public safety, particularly in restricted air spaces, like near airports.
Finally, at 3:45 pm – Lawrence Tech’s Lisa Kujawa will talk about LTU’s summer science camps for high school kids. Among the available camps are: Forensic Summer Science Institute; Biotechnology Camp; and Nanotechnology Camp.
